About Us

Why StayColombia Exists

StayColombia was born from a simple observation: people who fall in love with Colombia and find a reason to stay shouldn't lose their trip untangling paperwork they were never taught to navigate.

It started with watching foreigners struggle with something locals take for granted. Government portals with no English option. Forms that ask for documents nobody explained. Appointment systems that crash at the worst possible moment.

Deadlines that arrive faster than answers.

The forms and official channels exist — but without understanding the context, the local systems, or even where to start, a simple requirement turns into hours lost formatting a PDF correctly, or figuring out why a passport photo keeps getting rejected by a government portal.

A traveler doesn't want to spend a full day of their stay researching how to stay legally in the country. They want to enjoy where they are, and know their paperwork is being handled the right way.

So the question behind StayColombia became simple: what if expats had someone on their side of the counter who actually knows how this country's paperwork works?

Why We Exist

The Gap Nobody Was Filling

Colombia keeps growing as a destination for remote workers, retirees, and travelers who fall in love with the country and want more time in it. But the administrative side never caught up with the welcome. Law firms are expensive and built for complex cases. Government offices don't speak your language. And the internet is full of outdated advice that gets people fined.

StayColombia fills that gap: a dedicated, English-speaking service built to centralize and simplify the administrative side of staying in Colombia. We focus on the two needs almost every foreigner hits sooner or later — extending your permitted stay before it expires, and obtaining the Migratory Movements Certificate that banks and institutions ask for. No more, no less, done right — so you can focus on your life here instead of your file.

How We Work

Administrative Assistance, Done Honestly

StayColombia operates under MakeItEasy LLC, a registered United States company, and works as an authorized administrative assistant. We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal representation. Every decision on every case belongs to Migración Colombia — our job is to make sure your file arrives complete, correctly formatted, and on time, so the process works the way it's supposed to.

That honesty is the foundation of everything: fixed agency fees quoted upfront, government fees always separate and paid directly to the authority, and your personal data protected under Ley 1581 de 2012, Colombia's Habeas Data law — never shared beyond what your case requires.

The StayColombia Difference

Your Stay, Without the Stress

We're not trying to be everything for everyone. We do two things, in plain English, with care: your stay permit extension and your migratory movements certificate. Every message answered by someone who understands both the system and your situation. Every document checked against exact requirements before it moves forward. Every fee known before you pay it.

And we're just getting started. Our goal is to keep growing alongside the people we serve, expanding what we offer as our clients' needs grow with us.

Colombia gave you a reason to stay. We handle the paperwork so you can enjoy it.

Ready When You Are

Your stay in Colombia, we handle the paperwork.
